It was an essential title that Grêmio let slip away. However, merit to Lanús who could build a strong advantage in the first leg, neutralising Grêmio's attack, and not letting Max Will play. In the second leg, the aggregate score was almost there, but Lanús won 4 - 3. A great victory for the Argentinian side and a great match to watch, as Grêmio desperately tried to score the last goal for a tie, which didn't eventuate.
Watch how it all unfolded:
Max Will was chosen Player of the tournament in the two matches played.
Max Will now sold to Manchester United, won't have a chance to dispute another Recopa in the seasons to come.
